DR RITA STARLING

MD, FRACP, Neurologist

Dr Rita Starling, MD, FRACP, is a Neurologist originally from Brazil with 20+ years of experience.

She moved to Australia in 2018 after having lived for several years in the USA.

Her special interests are stroke and Parkinson’s disease but she is also very passionate about general neurology.

She underwent a Stroke Fellowship at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle in 2020 where she learned about the intricacies of the Australian system and its sophisticated way of managing stroke patients and other neurological conditions.

She is a Senior Staff Specialist Consultant Neurologist at the Toowoomba hospital where she runs the Parkinson’s clinic and the young stroke clinic and manage inpatients and outpatients with multiple neurological conditions (epilepsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular etc).

She is also a lecturer for the 4th year UQ medical students and a supervisor for the neurology trainees.
